JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Position Overview
The Business Development Manager supports the Deputy Director of Business Development in identifying, evaluating, and advancing renewable energy project opportunities in Vietnam.This role focuses on project identification & site evaluation, project development coordination, authority engagement, and development milestone tracking to support the successful securing of solar and wind farm projects.The position requires strong coordination skills, understanding of project development processes, and the ability to work closely with local authorities and project stakeholders.
- Key Responsibilities
Project Identification & Site Evaluation
- Identify potential sites for solar and wind farm development through field research and local market intelligence.
- Conduct preliminary site screening including land availability, grid connection potential, environmental considerations, technical & development feasibility, commercial viability, and regulatory feasibility.
- Support data collection related to resource potential, land conditions, and infrastructure accessibility.
Project Development Coordination
- Support the Deputy Director in advancing renewable energy projects through development stages.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating project documentation required for development activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Legal, Engineering, Finance, and external stakeholders including consultants, brokers, etc. to support project development processes.
Authority Engagement & Local Coordination
- Support engagement with provincial authorities, departments, and local stakeholders to facilitate project development activities.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with local partners and relevant authorities.
- Support follow-up on development procedures and administrative processes when required.
Project Monitoring & Reporting
- Track project development milestones and provide updates on project progress.
- Prepare internal reports, presentations, and project development updates for management review.
- Maintain organized records of project-related documentation and communications.
Market & Policy Monitoring
- Monitor renewable energy market developments, provincial/national planning updates, and policy changes.
- Collect and analyze relevant information to support project development strategy.
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Environmental Studies, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in energy project development, infrastructure projects, or related sectors.
- Experience working with local authorities or project permitting processes is an advantage.
- Familiarity with renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or power infrastructure) is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Ability to conduct site screening and collect development-related data.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently in field-based development activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and project documentation.
