Legal Officer

Pacifico Energy has over 1.5 GW of operational projects and an additional 7 GW in the development pipeline. As leaders of the emerging Pacific market in renewable energy, we are Japan’s largest solar developer.

In Vietnam, we commissioned a 40MW solar power plant in Mui Ne (Binh Thuan) and are currently constructing a 30 MW Wind Farm in Binh Dai, Ben Tre.

A. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Objectives of the position:

Provide general legal support and assistance to the Head of Legal and Legal Executive.

B. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Legal Research and Analysis

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on routine matters, anticipating legal issues that could impact the
  • Provide straightforward legal opinions and advice upon
  • Prepare legal memoranda and summaries for internal

2. Legal Support

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts under the guidance of the Head of Legal and Legal Executive.
  • Provide basic advice on matters related to investment projects, including land-related issues.
  • Assist in updating new legal regulations as per request of the Head of Legal and Legal Executive.
  • Handle drafting, submission, follow-up, and liaison with competent authorities regarding licensing procedures (e.g., ERC, IRC, M&A Approval,…).
  • Translate documents between English and Vietnamese.
  • Monitor the status of the land lease process and another licensing process as requested by Head of Legal.
  • Maintain an organized database of contracts and legal documents.
  • Assist in preparing legal due diligence reports, M&A transactional documents under the guidance of the Head of Legal.

3. Compliance Monitoring and Administrative Support

  • Assist in creating internal documentation to support the company’s operations.
  • Manage and carry out legal administrative tasks, including interacting with local authorities and handling internal requests such as notarization, legalization, licensing submissions, and document confirmations before applying the company seal.
  • Ensure company licenses, legal documents, and files are properly managed, organized, and archived for easy access.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide legal support for various business initiatives.
  • Participate in staff training sessions on legal topics (as requested).

5. Others

  • Provide administrative litigation support as requested.
  • Other legal tasks assigned by Head of Legal and Legal Executive.

B. REQUIREMENT:

Education

Bachelor of Laws or higher from the University of Law of Ho Chi Minh City or the University of Economics and Law of Ho Chi Minh City.

Experience

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience practicing in law firms.
  • Familiar with land acquisition, zoning laws, and environmental clearances.
  • Experience in M&A transactional documents is preferred.

Skills

  • Proficient in title verification, due diligence, and contract management.
  • Knowledgeable in Enterprise Law, Construction, Land, Investment, and Civil Law.
  • Basic skills in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Good command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
