During the meeting, General Secretary Tô Lâm affirmed that the United States is one of Vietnam’s most important economic partners. In the context of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the U.S. being continuously strengthened and expanded, both countries have many new opportunities and areas for cooperation, creating favorable conditions for U.S. enterprises, including Pacifico Energy, to expand their investment and business activities in Vietnam.

The General Secretary highly appreciated the practical contributions of Pacifico Energy and Mr. Nate Franklin personally to Vietnam’s development, especially in the field of renewable energy. He affirmed that Vietnam is striving toward the goal of sustainable development, aiming to become an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income developed nation by 2045. In this process, Vietnam is committed to maintaining a consistent policy of institutional reform, improving the investment environment, and facilitating efficient operations for both domestic and foreign enterprises. At the same time, Vietnam remains steadfast in its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Emphasizing the critical role of a stable electricity supply in socio-economic development, the General Secretary stated that Vietnam places special importance on clean energy. The Government, along with relevant ministries and sectors, is actively improving the legal framework to enable energy enterprises to invest in Vietnam. The development of energy infrastructure not only meets domestic demand but also strengthens Vietnam’s position in Southeast Asia.

The General Secretary expressed his hope that Pacifico Energy would continue to expand its cooperation and investment in Vietnam, particularly in energy transition projects, and accelerate the implementation of ongoing projects. He also encouraged the Group to enhance collaboration with local enterprises, promote technology transfer, and share experience to boost the country’s renewable energy development capacity — especially in offshore wind power.
